Buttermilk rolls
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- cooking oil - 1/4 c
- warm water - 1/4 c
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- warm buttermilk - 1 c
How to make buttermilk rolls:
Dissolve yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in the warm water. Add 1/4 cup sugar, salt, cooking oil and soda to buttermilk. Add yeast mixture. Add flour to make soft dough and knead on floured board until smooth. Cover with cloth and let rest 15 minutes. Shape as desired. Put in a greased pan in a warm place 1 1/2 hours or until doubled. Bake at 375°. Brush with butter and serve. Dough will keep several days in refrigerator. Makes 1 1/2 to 2 dozen rolls.Recipe categories: Breads, Low cholesterol, Rolls/biscuits.
