- sugar - 3 c
- shortening - 1 c
- eggs - 5 item
- sifted flour - 3 c
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- buttermilk - 1 c
- almond flavoring or flavor as desired - 2 Tbsp
How to make buttermilk pound cake:
Cream the sugar and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time. Combine flour, soda and salt. Add alternately with the buttermilk. Add flavoring. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325°.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, For large groups.
