  • shortening - 1 c
  • eggs - 5 item
  • sifted flour - 3 c
  • soda - 1/4 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • almond flavoring or flavor as desired - 2 Tbsp

How to make buttermilk pound cake:

Cream the sugar and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time. Combine flour, soda and salt. Add alternately with the buttermilk. Add flavoring. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325°.
