Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla
  • milk - 3 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • cocoa - 1/3 c
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • powdered sugar
  • margarine - 1 c
  • buttermilk or sour milk - 1/2 c

How to make buttermilk brownies:

Icing:3 Tbsp. cocoa3 Tbsp. milk1/4 c. margarine2 1/4 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla Mix sugar, flour, soda and salt up in mixing bowl. Then on top of stove in saucepan, mix margarine, water and cocoa. Cook until it starts to boil. Remove and add to mix in bowl. Add eggs, milk and vanilla. Beat with mixer on low speed for 2 minutes. Pour onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° until done.

Icing: In a saucepan, add cocoa, milk and margarine. Heat until it boils. Remove and add powdered sugar and vanilla. Put onto cake while hot.
