- salt
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour
- butter - 1/4 c
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 3/4 c
- unsifted flour - 5 to
- margarine - 1/3 c
- egg, well beaten - 1 item
- active dry yeast - 1 pkg
- dates, cut fine - 1 c
How to make buttermilk bread:
Mix in a bowl dates, sugar, butter and boiling water. Stir until the butter melts. Cool. Stir in egg, baking soda, flour, salt and chopped nuts. Put in a buttered loaf pan, 9 x 5-inches. Bake about 50 minutes at 350°.Recipe categories: Breads, Healthy, Yeast breads.
