  • baking powder - 3 tsp

  • milk - 1 c
  • margarine or butter, softened - 1/2 c
  • cream cheese - 8 oz
  • rum extract - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 3 item
  • 79 oz - 2 (
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • powdered sugar - 1 c
  • water - 3 4

How to make butter rum cake:

Filling:1/2 c. all-purpose flour1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar1/4 c. margarine or butter, softened2 (.79 oz.) rolls butter rum Life Savers, crushed Glaze:1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar1/4 c. butter1 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. rum extract3 to 4 tsp. water Heat oven to 350°. Using 1 tablespoon solid shortening, generously grease and flour 12 cup fluted tube pan. Combine all Cake ingredients. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed.

Combine Filling ingredients. Pour 1/3 batter (2 cups) into prepared pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 filling. Repeat, ending with batter. Bake at 350° for 60 to 70 minutes or until done. Cool upright in pan for 15 minutes. Turn to serving plate. Cool completely.

For Glaze, combine brown sugar and margarine. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth. Spoon over cake. Do not use self-rising flour.
