Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- flour - 2 2
- butter - 1/2 lb
- nutmeg - 1 item
- cold water - 7 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- Crisco
- salt to taste - 1 item
How to make butter rolls:
Pastry:1 c. Crisco7 Tbsp. cold water2 Tbsp. vinegar1 egg salt to taste2 to 2 1/2 c. flour Mix pastry ingredients by hand until it can be handled easily. Divide dough into 4 equal parts. Roll out one at a time in oblong shape. In each roll, put 1/2 cup of the sugar and 1/2 stick margarine. Sprinkle nutmeg over this. Bring dough ends together and seal. Place 4 rolls in 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Then add water until rolls are almost covered. Bake in 350° oven until brown.Recipe categories: Desserts, Breads, Rolls/biscuits.
