- sugar
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- milk
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking powder
- melted butter - 3 Tbsp
- large eggs - 2 item
- 10x sugar
- cake flour - 3 c
- butter, soft - 2/3 c
- nuts garnish - 1/2 c
- Grease and flour three 8-inch round pans
How to make butter cake:
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour three 8-inch round pans. In a large bowl, mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy (about 3 minutes). Mix in flour, baking powder and salt alternately with milk. Pour into pans. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until done. Cool on racks. Frost with Cocoa Fudge Frosting.Cocoa Fudge Frosting:1/3 c. cocoa1 3/4 c. 10x sugar1 tsp. vanilla2 to 4 Tbsp. milk3 Tbsp. melted butter1/2 c. nuts (garnish) Place cocoa in a small mixing bowl. Stir in sugar until blended. Add vanilla and butter; mix well. Add milk one tablespoon at a time until frosting reaches desired consistency. Beat well 1 minute. Frost layers.
