Buckaroo beans
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 3/4 c
- vinegar - 2 tsp
- diced onion - 1/2 c
- catsup - 1/2 c
- can pork and beans - 1 lb
- prepared mustard - 1 tsp
- salt optional - 1/2 tsp
- hamburger - 1/2 lb
- can red kidney beans - 1 lb
- can garbanzo beans - 1 lb
- can butter beans - 1 lb
- bacon, diced - 1/2 lb
How to make buckaroo beans:
You may substitute or add any of your favorite beans (green, pinto, lima or black-eyed peas).All you need is a skillet, Dutch oven (or pot), spoon and can opener.
In skillet, brown hamburger; drain and put in pot. Fry bacon until done. Saute onion and drain. Add to hamburger. Add rest of ingredients (including bean juices). Simmer 1/2 hour and eat! Add cornbread, rolls or biscuits and salad for a meal. Great the next day and also freezes well.
