Ingredients/Components

  • brown sugar - 3/4 c
  • vinegar - 2 tsp
  • diced onion - 1/2 c
  • catsup - 1/2 c
  • can pork and beans - 1 lb
  • prepared mustard - 1 tsp
  • salt optional - 1/2 tsp
  • hamburger - 1/2 lb
  • can red kidney beans - 1 lb
  • can garbanzo beans - 1 lb
  • can butter beans - 1 lb
  • bacon, diced - 1/2 lb

How to make buckaroo beans:

You may substitute or add any of your favorite beans (green, pinto, lima or black-eyed peas).

All you need is a skillet, Dutch oven (or pot), spoon and can opener.

In skillet, brown hamburger; drain and put in pot. Fry bacon until done. Saute onion and drain. Add to hamburger. Add rest of ingredients (including bean juices). Simmer 1/2 hour and eat! Add cornbread, rolls or biscuits and salad for a meal. Great the next day and also freezes well.
