Buckaroo beans
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
- water
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- chili powder - 2 tsp
- oregano - 1/4 tsp
- onion, chopped
- salt to taste - 1 item
- green pepper, chopped - 1/2 c
- cloves garlic, chopped - 2 item
- bay leaves - 2 item
- canned tomatoes - 2 c
- ham or bacon - 1/4 lb
- dry pinto beans - 2 c
How to make buckaroo beans:
Boil beans in water for 2 minutes. Cover and remove from fire. Let stand for 1 hour, then return to stove. Add all remaining ingredients, except salt; simmer for 3 1/2 hours. Add salt to taste.Recipe categories: Low protein, Side dish, Beans.
