Brunswick stew
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1 qt
- butter, melted - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- frozen corn - 16 oz
- large onion, sliced - 1 item
- large potatoes, cubed - 2 item
- dash red pepper - 1 item
- large chicken, cut up - 1 item
- tomatoes canned - 28 oz
- slices bacon, cut - 2 item
- butter beans frozen - 10 oz
How to make brunswick stew:
In a 5-quart heavy pot, stew chicken, water, bacon, onion and salt for 2 hours over medium low heat. Remove chicken; cool, skin and remove meat from bones. Cut into medium size pieces. Return to pot. Add remaining ingredients, except corn; cook 1/2 hour. Add corn and cook 1/2 hour. Mix butter and flour; add to stew and simmer 1/2 hour.Recipe categories: Main dish, Whole chicken, Stew.
