  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 4 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • all-purpose flour
  • chopped walnuts
  • sq - 4 oz

How to make brownies:

Melt chocolate with shortening. Cool. Sift together flour with powder and salt. Beat eggs until light; add sugar, then chocolate mixture. Blend. Add flour, vanilla and nuts. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake in moderate oven at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
