Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- cocoa
- buttermilk - 1/4 c
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- egg, well beaten - 1 item
- Pet evaporated milk - 3 Tbsp
- In saucepan put margarine, water, and cocoa
- or more box powdered sugar - 1/2 item
How to make brownies:
For brownies, mix flour, sugar, and salt. In saucepan put margarine, water, and cocoa. Bring to a boil and pour over flour mixture and stir. Beat egg. Add buttermilk and baking soda. Add to flour mixture. Add vanilla. Bake in 12 x 9-inch shallow pan that is well greased and floured. Bake 20 minutes at 350°. While cake is hot, frost it with icing. When slightly cool cut into squares.Icing:1/2 stick margarine1 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa3 Tbsp. Pet evaporated milk1/2 or more box powdered sugar1/2 c. chopped pecans1/2 tsp. vanilla For icing, mix 1/2 stick of margarine, 1 1/2 tablespoons of cocoa, and milk. Heat over low heat. DO NOT BOIL.
