Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • milk - 6 Tbsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 4 Tbsp
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • oleo
  • box powdered sugar - 1 item
  • eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item

How to make brownies:

Icing:1/4 lb. oleo4 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 box powdered sugar1 c. chopped nuts1/2 tsp. vanilla Sift together flour and sugar; set aside. Bring to a rapid boil the Crisco, cocoa and water. Pour over flour mixture and stir well. Add buttermilk, soda, eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Pour into 16 x 11-inch greased and floured pan. Bake 25 minutes at 375°.

Icing: Mix oleo, cocoa and milk. Bring to a boil. Add powdered sugar, nuts and vanilla. Spread over hot brownies.
