Brown sugar pound cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
- light brown sugar - 1 lb
- sifted plain flour - 3 c
- canned cream - 6 Tbsp
- Add eggs, one at a time
- chopped nuts use walnuts, if possible - 1 c
How to make brown sugar pound cake:
Cream butter and shortening; gradually add brown sugar and regular sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add vanilla and chopped walnuts. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes in tube pan (cool 10 minutes). Remove from pan and glaze.Glaze:1 c. sifted confectioners sugar2 Tbsp. butter6 Tbsp. canned cream1/2 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. chopped walnuts Cream ingredients together.
