Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • sifted flour
  • butter 1 stick - 1/2 c
  • coarsely chopped walnuts - 1 c
  • light brown sugar packed - 2 c

How to make brown sugar brownies:

Melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar. Stir until blended. Cool. Add eggs stirring until blended. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and stir into mixture. Add vanilla and nuts stirring until blended. Spread in well greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake in 350° oven for 25 minutes or until slight imprint remains when touched with finger. Don't overbake. Cut into bars or squares while still warm.
