Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • slivered almonds, toasted - 3 Tbsp
  • chicken broth - 2 c
  • finely chopped celery - 1/2 c
  • red pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • finely chopped green onions - 1/4 c
  • brown rice uncooked - 1 c
  • grated raw carrot - 1/2 c

How to make brown rice pilaf:

Bring broth to a boil in a heavy saucepan. Stir in rice and rest of ingredients, except almonds. Cover; reduce heat and simmer 25 to 30 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Stir in almonds. Yields 8 servings.
