Brown rice pilaf
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- slivered almonds, toasted - 3 Tbsp
- chicken broth - 2 c
- finely chopped celery - 1/2 c
- red pepper - 1/4 tsp
- finely chopped green onions - 1/4 c
- brown rice uncooked - 1 c
- grated raw carrot - 1/2 c
How to make brown rice pilaf:
Bring broth to a boil in a heavy saucepan. Stir in rice and rest of ingredients, except almonds. Cover; reduce heat and simmer 25 to 30 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Stir in almonds. Yields 8 servings.Recipe categories: Side dish, Rice, Brown rice.
