Brown-eyed susans



  • sugar - 3 Tbsp
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • cocoa - 2 Tbsp
  • almond extract - 1 tsp
  • sifted powdered sugar
  • margarine - 1 c
  • hot water - 2 Tbsp

How to make brown-eyed susans:

Icing:1 c. sifted powdered sugar2 Tbsp. cocoa2 Tbsp. hot water1/2 tsp. vanilla Cream margarine; add sugar, almond extract, flour and salt. Mix well. Take a level tablespoon of mixture and roll into ball. Place on greased cookie sheet and flatten slightly. Bake at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes. When cool, put 1/2 teaspoon of icing on each cookie and top with almond half (optional).
