Broccoli soup
Ingredients/Components
- half and half - 2 c
- milk - 2 c
- flour - 1/2 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- water - 4 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- sliced onion - 1/2 c
- instant chicken bouillon - 4 tsp
- fresh broccoli - 3 c
- cubed ham, fully cooked - 2 c
- Velveeta pimento cheese, cubed - 3/4 c
How to make broccoli soup:
In large frypan, saute butter, onion and celery. Blend in flour, stirring well. Add milk and half and half slowly; keep stirring until thick and smooth. Remove from heat; cover and let set. In a 4-quart (or larger) saucepan, cook broccoli in 4 cups water for 6 minutes. Add chicken bouillon; cook and gradually add the milk-onion-celery mixture. Simmer on low heat.
