Broccoli salad



  • sour cream - 1/2 c
  • mayonnaise or salad dressing - 1/3 c
  • cider vinegar - 3 Tbsp
  • celery seed - 3/4 tsp
  • dry mustard - 3/4 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • white or black pepper - 1 item
  • fresh broccoli
  • bunch green onions, cut into 1/2-inch pieces - 1 item
  • pimento stuffed olives, sliced - 1 c
  • sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1 can

How to make broccoli salad:

Combine first 7 ingredients in small bowl; set aside. Trim off large leaves of broccoli and remove tough ends. Cut stalks into 1/4-inch slices. Cut remaining broccoli into flowerets. Place in large salad bowl. Add remaining ingredients. Pour dressing over top; toss gently to coat. Cover and chill one hour. Makes 8 to 10 servings. I make it the day before.
