Broccoli salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- raisins - 8 oz
- small onion, chopped fine - 1 item
- apple cider vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- celery, chopped fine - 1/2 c
- salad dressing or mayonnaise - 8 oz
- sharp Cheddar cheese optional - 8 oz
- bunch broccoli, cut in bite size pieces - 1 item
- bacon, fried crisp, drained and crumbled about 1/2 c - 1 lb
- dry roasted unsalted peanuts, pecans or walnuts - 8 oz
How to make broccoli salad:
Combine sugar, salad dressing and vinegar. Mix long enough for the sugar to be absorbed. Toss with the rest of the ingredients; chill and enjoy.Notes: Real bacon bits may be substituted for the fried bacon. This recipe may be easily doubled for a group. The salad can also be made with a mix of broccoli and cauliflower.
