Ingredients/Components

  • garlic powder - 1 item
  • prepared mustard - 1 Tbsp
  • seasoned salt - 1 item
  • fresh mushrooms - 1/2 lb
  • stuffed green olives - 1/2 c
  • hard-boiled eggs - 6 item
  • bunch fresh broccoli - 1 item
  • large onion Vidalia is best - 1 item
  • mayonnaise not Miracle Whip or salad dressing - 1 c
  • whole salted cashews - 1/2 c

How to make broccoli salad:

Wash broccoli and cut into bite size pieces (leaves and stems, too). Chop onion. Slice mushrooms thin. Cut hard eggs into wedges. Put all of this into a large salad bowl and sprinkle with garlic powder and seasoned salt. In a small bowl, mix mustard and mayonnaise. Pour over vegetables and eggs; toss gently with rubber spatula or wooden spoon until all pieces are coated. Scatter olives and nuts over top. Cover and refrigerate overnight, if possible, before serving.
