Broccoli salad
Ingredients/Components
- garlic powder - 1 item
- prepared mustard - 1 Tbsp
- seasoned salt - 1 item
- fresh mushrooms - 1/2 lb
- stuffed green olives - 1/2 c
- hard-boiled eggs - 6 item
- bunch fresh broccoli - 1 item
- large onion Vidalia is best - 1 item
- mayonnaise not Miracle Whip or salad dressing - 1 c
- whole salted cashews - 1/2 c
How to make broccoli salad:
Wash broccoli and cut into bite size pieces (leaves and stems, too). Chop onion. Slice mushrooms thin. Cut hard eggs into wedges. Put all of this into a large salad bowl and sprinkle with garlic powder and seasoned salt. In a small bowl, mix mustard and mayonnaise. Pour over vegetables and eggs; toss gently with rubber spatula or wooden spoon until all pieces are coated. Scatter olives and nuts over top.
