Broccoli-rice casserole



  • pkg - 2 oz
  • butter - 4 Tbsp
  • chopped onion - 3/4 c
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • chopped green pepper - 3/4 c
  • can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
  • can mushrooms, drained - 1 oz
  • raw rice
  • jar Cheez Whiz - 1 oz

How to make broccoli-rice casserole:

Cook rice. Saute onion, green pepper and celery in butter. Cook broccoli and drain. Combine with Cheez Whiz, vegetables, undiluted soup and mushrooms. Fold in cooked rice and put into 3-quart buttered casserole. Bake at 350° until hot and bubbly (about 20 to 30 minutes). (Can be made a day ahead and baked just before serving.)
