Broccoli quiche
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 3 item
- heavy cream - 1/2 c
- red pepper sauce - 1/4 c
- Parmesan cheese - 1/4 c
- chicken broth - 2/3 c
- salt optional - 1/2 tsp
- grated Swiss cheese - 1 c
- chopped broccoli - 2 c
- unbaked pastry shell - 1 item
- sliced thin scallions - 1/4 c
How to make broccoli quiche:
Rinse and drain broccoli. Chop to measure 2 cups, both florets and stalks (optional). Grate cheese and slice scallions (thin). Regular onions may be used. In bowl beat eggs with broth, cream, salt and pepper sauce. Prick bottom and sides of pie shell. Bake in 450° oven for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle 1/2 grated Parmesan over bottom of pie shell. Scatter 1/2 broccoli, 1/2 Swiss cheese and 1/2 scallions. Repeat with remaining. Pour egg mixture over all. Sprinkle other 1/2 grated cheese. Bake at 450° for 5 minutes. Lower temperature to 325°. Bake 25 minutes, until set. Knife will come out clean.Recipe categories: Appetizers, Vegetables, Broccoli.
