Broccoli cheese soup
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- water
- oleo - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- finely chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
- chicken bouillon cubes - 2 item
- shredded American cheese - 4 oz
- frozen chopped broccoli or equivalent fresh broccoli - 3 c
How to make broccoli cheese soup:
In a large saucepan, cook onion in oleo until tender. Stir in flour and pepper until smooth. Add milk all at once. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly, about 1 minute. Add cheese and stir until melted. Remove from heat. In medium saucepan, dissolve cubes in water. Add bay leaf. Bring to a boil and add broccoli. Cook until done and do not drain. Add broccoli and liquid to cheese mixture. Stir until well blended. Remove bay leaf. Makes 5 (1 cup) servings.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Cheese, Soups & stews.
