Ingredients/Components

  • milk
  • flour - 1 Tbsp
  • butter, melted - 2 Tbsp
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • prepared mustard - 1 Tbsp
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded - 4 oz
  • Swiss cheese, shredded - 4 oz
  • fresh mushrooms, sliced - 1 c
  • large eggs, beaten - 4 item
  • ham, chopped - 1 c
  • slices white bread, crumbled or croutons - 4 item

How to make breakfast casserole:

Place bread crumbs in greased 8-inch square baking dish. Set aside. Saute mushrooms and onion in butter. Place over bread. Add ham. Mix cheeses and flour. Place over ham. Combine milk, eggs, mustard and garlic salt, mixing well. Pour over cheese. Chill 8 hours or overnight. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Bake at 375° for 35 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
