Breakfast casserole
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 6 item
- milk - 3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- grated Cheddar cheese - 8 oz
- slices bread - 7 item
- sausage, browned and drained - 1 lb
How to make breakfast casserole:
Trim crusts from bread. Crumble and mix with grated cheese. Spread in greased 9 x 13-inch pan and top with sausage. Mix eggs, milk and seasonings. Pour over sausage. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes. Serve hot.Note: Mildred Dorwood uses 6 slices of bread, 2 cups milk and only 1 cup of cheese.
Janet Gray uses 1 1/2 pounds sausage, 4 slices of bread and 9 eggs.
Betty Oliver likes 4 to 5 slices of bread and 2 cups of milk.
Mary Anne Tyndall says hot sausage is good with 1 cup of bread crumbs and 2 cups of milk.
