Breakfast casserole
Ingredients/Components
- sausage - 1 lb
- to 5 slices bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes - 3 item
- shredded sharp cheese - 1 c
- eggs - 6 item
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- dash of hot sauce - 1 item
- nutmeg optional - 1 item
- Worcestershire sauce optional - 1 item
How to make breakfast casserole:
Brown sausage over medium heat. Stir occasionally. Drain well. Spread bread cubes into large buttered casserole dish. Top with sausage and cheese. Combine eggs, milk and seasonings. Mix well and pour over cheese. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes or until set. Serves 6 to 8.Recipe categories: Breakfast, Casseroles, One Dish meal.
