Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cooking oil - 2 3
- beaten eggs - 2 item
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- crushed saltine crackers - 1 c
- shredded sharp American cheese - 1/2 c
- medium tomatoes firm - 4 item
How to make breaded tomato slices:
Combine eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Cut tomatoes in 3/4-inch thick slices. Dip in cracker crumbs, then in egg mixture and again in crumbs. Fry in hot oil until browned. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and cook over very low heat until cheese is melted. Makes 4 servings.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, < 15 mins, Side dish.
