  • milk
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • sage - 1 tsp
  • hamburger - 1 lb
  • minced onion - 1/2 c
  • minced celery - 2 c
  • eggs, slightly beaten - 4 item
  • melted butter or margarine - 1 c
  • chicken broth or turkey broth - 1/2 c
  • croutons, unseasoned - 2 (9

How to make bread stuffing:

Saute celery and onion in butter over low heat. Combine seasoning. Combine croutons with vegetables. Add drippings. Add all together with eggs and liquid to moisten. The exact amount will be determined by the dryness of the bread. This will make stuffing for 2 (8 to 10 pound) birds or 1 (16 pound) turkey. If you want a little more meat, I add hamburger and milk. This makes a good dressing.
