Bread pudding with vanilla sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla extract - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- large egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour - 1 Tbsp
- whipping cream
- raisins - 3/4 c
- light brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
- butter, melted - 1/4 c
- ground nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- dash of nutmeg - 1 item
- large eggs, lightly beaten - 3 item
- cubed French bread - 4 c
- Vanilla Sauce - 1 item
- Gently stir in bread and raisins
How to make bread pudding with vanilla sauce:
Combine first 4 ingredients; stir in butter and whipping cream. Gently stir in bread and raisins. Pour into lightly greased 2-quart deep baking dish. Bake at 375° for 50 to 55 minutes, shielding with aluminum foil after 30 minutes to prevent too much browning. Let stand 10 minutes before serving warm with Vanilla Sauce (recipe follows).Vanilla Sauce:1/2 c. sugar3 Tbsp. light brown sugar1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour dash of nutmeg1 large egg2 Tbsp. butter1 1/4 c. whipping cream1 Tbsp. vanilla extract Whisk first 7 ingredients in heavy saucepan; cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, 10 to 12 minutes or until thickened.
