  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • eggs - 6 item
  • vanilla - 1 Tbsp
  • milk
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • butter - 4 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • hot water - 2 c
  • lemon juice - 4 Tbsp
  • box raisins - 1 item
  • bread cubes - 6 c
  • Add margarine

How to make bread pudding:

Scald milk. Add margarine. Add to bread cubes. Add raisins. Beat eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla. Mix together with milk and margarine.

Place in baking pan. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Place in larger pan with hot water. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until knife comes out clean. Serve with Lemon Sauce.Lemon Sauce:1 c. sugar2 Tbsp. cornstarch1/2 tsp. nutmeg1/2 tsp. salt4 Tbsp. lemon juice4 Tbsp. butter2 c. hot water Mix dry ingredients with water. Boil 10 minutes or until sauce is clear. Cook on simmer 10 minutes more. Stir in lemon juice and butter. Dip over bread pudding.
