Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- raisins - 1/2 c
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- hot water - 1 c
- eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
- canned milk - 1 c
- to 6 slices bread - 4 item
How to make bread pudding:
Sauce:1/2 c. sugar2 Tbsp. cornstarch dash of salt1 c. hot water2 Tbsp. margarine1 Tbsp. vanilla Place bread in baking dish (buttered). Sprinkle raisins over bread. Beat eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, milk, water and vanilla; pour over bread. Let stand 10 minutes. Mix 3 tablespoons sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; sprinkle over mixture in pan. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until knife comes out clean.Sauce: Combine cornstarch, sugar, salt and 1 cup hot water. Cook over medium heat until mixture is clear and slightly thickened. Stir constantly; remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and butter; pour over cake while warm.
