Bread pudding



  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • eggs - 6 item
  • half and half - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • milk - 2 c
  • flour - 6 Tbsp
  • nutmeg - 1 Tbsp
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • raisins
  • rum - 1 oz
  • French bread - 10 oz
  • eggs, beaten well - 4 item
  • milk, scalded
  • sticks butter, melted - 2 item
  • dash of cinnamon and nutmeg - 1 item
  • vanilla and rum flavorings - 1 tsp

How to make bread pudding:

Rum Sauce:2 1/2 c. milk, scalded3/4 c. sugar6 Tbsp. flour4 eggs, beaten well1 stick butter dash of cinnamon and nutmeg1 tsp. vanilla and rum flavorings1 oz. rum In bowl combine eggs, cinnamon and nutmeg; mix well. Add sugar, milk, cream and vanilla; mix well. Cut up bread in bite-size pieces; place in baking dish (1 1/2 quart dish). Add raisins and butter to bread. Pour mixture over bread. Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown in a 375° oven. Serve with Rum Sauce; serves 12.

Rum Sauce: In saucepan, melt butter. Add flour; mix well. Add scalded milk and sugar. Cook over low heat until thick. Beat in eggs and remove from heat. Add nutmeg and cinnamon, vanilla and rum. Serve over pudding.
