  • sugar - 1/3 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • melted butter - 2 Tbsp
  • scalded milk - 1 qt
  • vanilla or 1/4 tsp - 1 tsp
  • stale bread crumbs - 2 c

How to make bread pudding:

Soak bread crumbs in milk. Set aside until cool. Add sugar, butter, eggs (slightly beaten), salt and flavoring. Bake one hour in buttered pudding dish in slow oven. Serve with vanilla sauce. In preparing bread crumbs, avoid using outside crusts.
