- sugar - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/4 c
- water - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 c
- ginger - 1/2 tsp
- celery seed - 1/2 tsp
- medium onions - 3 item
- medium cucumbers - 5 item
- mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
- turmeric - 1/2 tsp
- table salt - 1/4 tsp
How to make bread and butter pickles:
Soak cucumbers, onions and salt, in enough water to cover, for 2 hours. Drain. Cook until tender with vinegar and spices. Seal in sterilized bottles.Recipe categories: American, Condiments, etc., Vegetables.
