- sugar - 1/2 c
- water - 6 c
- vinegar - 2 c
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- turmeric - 1 tsp
- onions - 6 item
- crushed ice - 2 qt
- pickles - 3 gal
- ground mustard or mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
How to make bread and butter pickles:
Bring to boil in large container, then add cucumber slices. Heat just to boiling point. Do not boil. Stir often with wooden spoon. Pour into hot jars and seal.Recipe categories: American, Condiments, etc., Vegetables.
