Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 5 c
- vinegar - 3 c
- celery seed
- medium onions, sliced - 6 item
- mustard seed - 2 Tbsp
- turmeric
- green peppers, chopped - 2 item
- ice - 1 item
- canning salt - 1/3 c
- sliced cucumbers - 4 qt
- large cloves garlic - 3 item
How to make bread and butter pickles:
Mix first 5 ingredients and let stand, covered with ice, for at least 3 hours. Drain well. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over cucumber mixture. Bring to a boil, pack into hot jars, cover and seal.Recipe categories: American, Condiments, etc., Vegetables.
