Bread and butter pickles
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- water - 9 c
- vinegar
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- mustard seed - 1 Tbsp
- turmeric - 1 Tbsp
- cucumbers - 6 qt
- canning salt - 1 c
How to make bread and butter pickles:
Wash and slice (do not peel) 6 quarts cucumbers. Soak 10 hours in canning salt and 9 cups of water. Drain.Combine vinegar, sugar, celery seed, turmeric and mustard seed. Add slices of cucumbers and bring to full boil. Put in jars and seal. Very easy and very tasty!
