Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 5 c
- salt - 1/3 c
- celery seed
- medium onions, sliced - 6 item
- white vinegar - 3 c
- mustard seed - 2 Tbsp
- turmeric
- green pepper, cut in strips - 1 item
- large cloves garlic - 3 item
- sweet red pepper, cut in strips - 1 item
- thinly sliced cucumbers 15 cukes - 4 qt
How to make bread and butter pickles:
Mix in a large stock pot. Add cukes and bring to a boil. Seal in hot jars. (No need to process due to high vinegar content.)Recipe categories: American, Condiments, etc., Vegetables.
