  • oil - 1 c
  • granulated sugar
  • eggs - 3 item
  • buttermilk - 3 c
  • bran - 3 c
  • flour
  • baking powder
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • baking soda, dissolved in 1/2 c - 2 tsp
  • raisins or chopped nuts - 2 c

How to make bran muffins:

Combine all ingredients. Let stand in the refrigerator for 24 hours before using. Bake in 425° oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Use as needed, as the batter keeps, refrigerated, for 1 month. Makes 5 dozen.
