- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- water
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1 Tbsp
- raisins
How to make boston brown bread:
Boil water and raisins for 5 minutes and cool. Sift together the flour, salt and soda. Cream together the shortening, sugar and egg. Add raisin mixture to dry ingredients. Fill 3 medium cans. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.Recipe categories: Breads, Breakfast, Northeastern U.S..
