Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- buttermilk - 1 c
- small can evaporated milk - 1 item
- pecans, chopped - 1 c
- blackberry jam - 1 c
- soda, dissolved in milk - 1 tsp
- cherries maraschino, chopped - 1 c
- Add softened margarine, blackberry jam and beat
How to make blackberry jam cake:
Sift flour, sugar and salt. Add softened margarine, blackberry jam and beat. Then add one egg at a time. Continue to beat until well mixed. Add the vanilla and buttermilk with the soda. Mix and pour into three greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350° until barely done and put on racks to cool.Filling:2 c. sugar3 Tbsp. flour1 small can evaporated milk1 stick margarine Cook until thick, then add the margarine.
