- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- flour
- butter - 1/2 lb
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- cloves - 1 tsp
- allspice - 1 tsp
- sweet milk - 1 c
- blackberry jam - 1 c
- Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition
How to make blackberry jam cake:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add alternately with the flour. Add cinnamon, allspice and cloves. Add jam last. Bake in two or three layers in moderate oven until brown.Filling:2 c. sugar1 c. butter1 c. sweet milk Boil together until thick. Flavor with orange or vanilla extract.
