- eggs - 3 item
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted flour
- cloves - 1 tsp
- allspice - 1 tsp
- blackberries
- Add spices, salt, baking powder and soda
How to make blackberry cake:
Beat eggs, shortening and sugar. Add spices, salt, baking powder and soda. Add buttermilk. Gradually add flour. Fold in berries.Grease and flour three cake pans. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.Icing:1 c. brown sugar1/4 c. butter1/4 c. milk Bring to a boil; boil two minutes. Beat.
