  • sugar - 1 c
  • milk - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • powdered sugar - 1 item
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • butter, melted - 1/4 c
  • cake flour - 2 c
  • jars blackberry jam - 2 oz

How to make blackberry cake:

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg, beating well. Beat in dry ingredients that have been sifted together alternately with the milk. Pour into 3 greased and floured 9-inch round pans and bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely. After you have stacked and spread the jam between layers, sift powdered sugar over top layer.
