Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- plain flour - 3 c
- box confectioners sugar - 1 lb
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- cold coffee - 3 Tbsp
- fresh or frozen drained blackberries
- Combine flour, spices, baking soda and baking powder
How to make blackberry cake:
Cream sugar and butter together; beat eggs and add to creamed mixture. Combine flour, spices, baking soda and baking powder. Stir into creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Carefully fold in blackberries. Bake at 350° in 3 greased and floured 8-inch cake pans for 30 minutes. Cool and frost with icing.Blackberry Cake Icing:1 c. butter1 (1 lb.) box confectioners sugar1 tsp. vanilla3 Tbsp. cold coffee Beat all ingredients together until fluffy.
