Black walnut pound cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- self-rising flour - 1 c
- plain flour - 2 c
- Crisco - 1 c
- margarine
- box 10x sugar - 1 item
- black walnuts reserve a few for garnish - 1 c
How to make black walnut pound cake:
Buttercream Frosting:6 Tbsp. margarine1/8 tsp. salt1 box 10x sugar2 tsp. vanilla5 Tbsp. milk Mix sugar and Crisco until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time. Blend well after each. Add milk and flour. Beat well. Add vanilla and walnuts. Bake in tube pan 1 hour and 15 minutes at 300°. Frost with Buttercream Frosting. Sprinkle on black walnuts for garnish.Frosting: Melt margarine. Add other ingredients to bowl and stir to blend. Beat at high speed 1 minute. Frost cooled cake.
