- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- large onion, diced - 1 item
- green pepper, diced - 1/2 c
- stalk celery, diced - 1 item
- cloves garlic, diced - 2 item
- salt pork size of your choice - 1 item
How to make black-eyed peas:
Partially cook the salt pork covered with water. Drain if water is salty. Add more hot water. Set aside. Soak peas for about 10 minutes. Heat until boiling; turn off heat. Combine salt pork, peas and seasonings. Add celery, onion and garlic. Cook until tender.Recipe categories: Main dish, Beans, Curries.
