Ingredients/Components

  • cream cheese - 1 c
  • egg, unbeaten - 1 item
  • sugar - 1/3 c
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • cocoa - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • water - 1 c
  • oil - 1/3 c
  • vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped almonds - 1 item

How to make black bottom cupcakes:

Combine first 5 ingredients and beat well. Sift together and mix next 5 ingredients. Add water, oil, vinegar and vanilla. Fill paper lined muffin tins 1/3 full of chocolate batter. Top each one with a heaping teaspoonful of cream cheese mixture.

Sprinkle with sugar and chopped almonds. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes (better underdone).
