Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- chopped carrots - 1 c
- black beans - 1 lb
- ham bone some meat left on - 1 item
How to make black bean soup:
Place beans in a large Dutch oven. Cover with 2-inches water. Soak 6 to 8 hours. Add ham bone and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer covered about 2 hours. Add veggies, salt and pepper and stir to mix. Simmer covered for 1 hour.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Beans, Black beans.
